About Us

ASK Dance Company (ADC) is a full-time dance company composed of professional dance collective. We specialize in providing training, workshops, master classes, performances, choreography as well as undertaking collaborative projects in traditional and contemporary genres of dance.

The company comprises dancers with a Bachelor of Dance in Performance or Choreography and are full-time professionals. We have also received numerous awards including winning gold medals at World Championship of Performing Arts, Selangor Young Talent Award 2011, BOH Cameronian Arts Awards for Performance, Choreography and other categories, International Scholarships and other distinguished prizes.

ASK Dance Company has become a shining example of Malaysia’s plurality danced through its repertoire and the ethnicity of company members. The company aspires to become a unique force with a distinct Malaysian identity providing employment, experience and a career pathway for outstanding dancers and choreographers.

The Instructors

Imran Syafiq

Imran Syafiq Mohd Affandi is the Director of ADC managing the flagship outreach program called Building Bridges, Get Malaysia Dancing, Connecting Communities and Forging Traditions.

Kimberly Yap

Kimberly is a certified Progressing Ballet Technique trainer and teaches Ballet actively at Malaysian Dance Centre by ASK Dance Company and Aria Music & Dance Centre

Zulkarnain Zuber

Zulkarnain has completed both Diploma in Dance and Bachelor of Dance (Honours) majoring in Choreography at the Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan also known as ASWARA.

Azammudin Tumiran

Azam is a Diploma and Bachelor Degree graduate of Faculty of Dance ASWARA and currently works at ASK Dance Company as a senior ensemble.

Shafiq Yussof

Shafiq graduated with a Diploma in Dance from Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA) in 2017 and has recently completed his Bachelor of Dance with Hons. (Performance) from the same institution.

Nadhirah Rahmat

Nadhirah has been involved in dance since she was 7. In early 2020, she competed for Dansa Dansing, a dance competition television show. Internationally, she has performed in Acheh, Singapore, Jakarta, and Songkhla.

Maddie Gan

Maddie started ballet, at the age of 3, with the Federal Academy of Ballet. In 2017, she graduated from DPAC's Dancer's Training Programme (DTP) and has worked with numerous choreographers like J.S Wong, Raymond Chai, Wan Chin Choong, Alexei Dmitrenko, and many more.

Adlan Sairin

Adlan has continued his studies in the field of dance performance art at the Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI). He continued his studies at the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA) where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree majoring in performance.

Seraphic Wong

Seraphic obtained her Diploma in Dance in 2018 as well as her Bachelor in Dance majoring in performance in 2021 from Akademi Seni Budaya dan Warisan Kebangsaan (ASWARA). Throughout her years in ASWARA, she has been on the dean’s list several times and was once awarded with the best student award.
